you. Got your information regarding your organization from web. We have some requirement for Soil and Concrete
Testing. We UL India Pvt. Ltd. are into safety certifications & other verification services, based in Bangalore.
UL is undertaking a big initiative in helping out with the verification and testing of civil work used for solar power plants
mostly at Kutch area, Patan location of Gujarat state where photovoltaic modules will be installed in the field using metal
mounting structures.
Below are the consideration points where we require your valuable assistance and help:
1) Verification of the concrete used in the power plant, which should withstand for more than 20 years without
any degradation.
2) Checking of the soil type, soil strength at the power plant site based on which the civil work will be designed.
3) Soil quality checking and testing of the same based on some of the IS standards.
4) Understanding the soil report for engineering purpose.
5) Design considerations for choosing the type of foundation based on soil report & to study there durability.
6) Concrete quality checking and testing of the same based on some of the IS standards.
With respect to the above points we are going in depth to cross check whether proper quality of raw materials are
used, inspection process and how we can help the end clients.
Based on the above we are referring some of the standards given below:
IEC1773:1996-11 – Testing of foundations for structures
IS 1498:1970 – Classification & identification of soils for Engineering purposes
IS 1199:1959 – Methods of sampling & analysis of concrete
IS 516:1959 – Methods of tests for strength of concrete
IS 456:2000 – Code practice for plain & reinforced concrete & others.
Also you are greatly welcome to provide any suggestions on standards used for Solar Power Plant verifications.
